Start with conservative compression
Choose Compress PDF and keep the conservative setting for forms, digital documents, and text-heavy files. This optimizes structure without rasterizing the entire document.
Use strong mode for scanned pages
Strong mode recompresses supported embedded images. It helps scans and image-heavy PDFs most. Unsupported image cases are preserved and reported rather than silently damaging content.
Compare before sending
Download the result, check important pages, and compare its size with the original. An already-efficient PDF may not become smaller; the smaller original is retained when appropriate. Changes can invalidate digital signatures.
